University of Florida-Online

What are the popular events and traditions at University of Florida-Online?

UF Online students belong to a university with longstanding Gainesville traditions, but participation usually requires travel or an event-specific remote option. UF Homecoming and its associated Gator Growl program are prominent examples of university-wide celebrations.

UF also holds commencement ceremonies in Gainesville, giving eligible online graduates the option to take part in a physical university milestone under the applicable ceremony rules. Student-led events such as Dance Marathon at UF bring parts of the campus community together around fundraising and service. These are UF events rather than recurring activities held on a separate UF Online campus; students should check each event's current schedule and access arrangements.

What are the student housing and dining options at University of Florida-Online?

UF Online does not provide college-operated housing for its students. An applicant should plan to arrange housing independently rather than expect a residence-hall assignment through the online program.

Students living near Gainesville can investigate private rentals and UF's off-campus housing information, while those elsewhere can study from their existing homes. UF has residence halls, meal plans, and campus dining for eligible campus-based students, but those offerings should not be assumed to accompany UF Online enrollment. A student planning regular visits can check individual dining locations and payment options without purchasing a residential meal plan.
