Nazarene Bible College is institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Institutional accreditation evaluates the college as a whole; it does not mean that every individual program carries a separate professional accreditation or automatically qualifies a graduate for a license.
Accreditation is relevant to federal student-aid eligibility and to how other institutions may consider coursework. Neither financial aid nor transfer-credit acceptance is automatic: students must meet aid rules, and a receiving college decides which credits fit its own programs. Applicants seeking ordination or a regulated professional credential should also check the requirements of the relevant church or licensing authority.
Nazarene Bible College reports an open-admission policy for eligible applicants, rather than a selective first-year admissions process. Degree-seeking entrants should be prepared to document high school completion or an accepted equivalent, such as a GED, and complete the college's application process.
Open admission does not remove program prerequisites or documentation requirements. Applicants with prior college coursework should expect to provide records for transfer evaluation; those pursuing ministerial credentials should ask whether their intended program has additional church-related requirements. Before applying, confirm the current application form, transcript instructions, start dates, and any English-language documentation that applies to your circumstances.
Applicants should check Nazarene Bible College's current application instructions for the fee, if any, that applies to their applicant category. An application charge is different from tuition, mandatory academic fees, or a deposit paid after admission.
If paying an application fee would be a barrier, ask admissions whether a waiver is available and whether it must be approved before the application is submitted. Do not assume that an advertised waiver for another Nazarene institution also applies to NBC.
ROTC should not be assumed to be available through Nazarene Bible College. Its online, ministry-focused model is different from attending a campus that hosts an Army, Air Force, or Navy ROTC unit.
A student interested in commissioning should ask both NBC and the prospective ROTC host institution whether cross-enrollment is permitted and whether NBC coursework would satisfy participation rules. ROTC scholarships and service obligations are governed by the relevant military branch; admission to NBC alone would not establish ROTC eligibility.
Nazarene Bible College generally considers credit from other accredited institutions and reports accepting several forms of evaluated prior learning. Transfer applicants should submit their academic records and request an official evaluation before assuming that previously earned credits will shorten a particular program.
The college reports accepting Advanced Placement credit, CLEP examinations, DSST/DANTES examinations, and applicable American Council on Education credit recommendations. It also reports credit for life experience, which ordinarily requires a formal assessment rather than an applicant's assertion of experience. Transfer students may enter in fall, winter, spring, or summer, subject to the college's current term schedule. Admission, acceptance of a credit, and application of that credit toward a specific degree requirement are three separate decisions.
Applicants should not assume that Nazarene Bible College's online programs include a semester-abroad exchange. Overseas ministry experience and academic study abroad are also different: travel or service earns college credit only when the institution approves an appropriate academic arrangement.
Students hoping to take courses through another institution while abroad should obtain written approval in advance for transferability and degree applicability. They should also ask the financial aid office how enrollment through a separate provider would affect their aid.
