Students attending IIRP in person should obtain its current emergency, building-access, and incident-reporting instructions. Specific provisions such as around-the-clock patrols, emergency call devices, or late-night escorts should not be presumed.
Questions worth resolving before an in-person course include whom to call in an emergency, how the institution communicates closures or urgent alerts, and where to report harassment or sexual misconduct. An applicable annual security report, where published, can provide defined crime-reporting categories, but reported incidents alone cannot capture every aspect of personal safety.
