Conventional four-year and six-year graduation rates are a poor fit for evaluating BGSP. Those measures generally follow cohorts of first-time, full-time undergraduates, while BGSP's academic focus is graduate education.
A more useful completion discussion would be program-specific: the expected time to degree, the share of students studying part time, requirements for clinical hours or a dissertation, and how long students typically take to finish those requirements. Applicants should request outcomes for the particular credential they are considering rather than apply an undergraduate completion benchmark to the entire school.
A salary figure alone would not describe the likely financial return from a BGSP credential. Outcomes can differ substantially between students pursuing counseling licensure, those adding psychoanalytic training to an established practice, and those studying for another professional purpose.
When comparing earnings figures from any source, check whether they describe all former students or only those with recorded wages, whether they measure earnings one or several years after completion, and whether they report a median or an average. Such figures also do not account for tuition, debt, hours worked, geographic pay differences, or the time and expense of obtaining a license. Program-level career paths are more informative here than a single schoolwide salary claim.
