Federal graduation data report a 47% six-year graduation rate for Weber State's measured cohort of first-time, full-time students pursuing a bachelor's degree. Its four-year rate is 23%. Those figures describe completion within specified periods, not the share of every student who will eventually earn a credential.
A separately reported overall graduation measure is 46%, while first-year student retention is 67%. These indicators can use different cohorts or definitions and should not be treated as interchangeable. The six-year rate was higher than the 34% reported for the 2019 comparison period, but that trend alone does not establish why completion changed.
The standard federal first-time, full-time cohort does not describe all of Weber State's students. Transfers, part-time students, people returning to college, and some students pursuing certificates or associate degrees can have substantially different timelines. For a realistic personal plan, it is more useful to pair these institutional figures with a degree map showing course sequences and how often required classes are offered.
College Scorecard program data show substantial differences in reported median earnings one year after completion. Examples include $62,927 for computer and information sciences, $53,744 for registered nursing, and $35,647 for communication and media studies. These are field-specific observations, not a projected salary for an incoming student.
The Scorecard measure reflects federally aided completers with earnings data who were working and not enrolled at the measurement point. It does not represent every graduate, and a field label can encompass different credential levels or programs. Results may be suppressed where the underlying group is too small or disclosure rules apply.
One-year earnings are especially limited for fields in which graduates commonly pursue further study, licensing, or experience before reaching their longer-term occupation. Students comparing majors should consider program cost, likely borrowing, local job requirements, and whether the reported field and credential match the path they intend to take.
