IPEDS reports an overall graduation rate of 50% for SCU in the 2024-25 reporting data. This is a cohort-based undergraduate measure, not a statement that half of all SCU students - including those in graduate and professional programs - complete their degrees.
Federal graduation-rate measures generally follow a defined group of first-time, full-time students over a specified completion window. They may leave out transfer entrants and many adult learners. That distinction is particularly important here: the reported entering undergraduate counts included just two first-time degree- or certificate-seeking students and 13 transfer-in students. Small cohorts can produce rates that change sharply from one reporting period to another.
Earnings are best evaluated for the specific degree and career an applicant intends to pursue, not for SCU as a single institution. A biology or general health-sciences degree, for example, may lead to further schooling as well as employment, making a short-term earnings measure an incomplete account of its possible outcomes.
When comparing published earnings figures, check whether they describe completers, former students receiving federal aid, or another population; whether they are medians or averages; and how long after attendance they were measured. Licensure, geographic job market, additional education, and hours worked can all affect an individual's income. An earnings figure should be considered alongside the full cost and length of the intended program.
