Scottsdale Community College's published tuition is substantially lower for students charged the in-state rate than for those charged the out-of-state rate. In the 2024-25 IPEDS figures, annual full-time tuition and required fees were:
Those are reported 2024-25 figures, not a quote for a future term. Residency classification, credit load and course-specific charges affect an actual bill. For budgeting, the same reported figures put books and supplies at about $984 and room and board at about $12,240 for an academic year. The room-and-board amount is a living-cost estimate, not a charge for an SCC residence hall. Transportation, personal costs and some program supplies add further expenses.
Financial aid can change what a student ultimately pays. In 2024-25 aid reporting, 60% of students in the reported aid population received financial aid, while 7% received student loans. The reported average grant award was $3,709 among the relevant grant recipients; an average award is not an amount every enrollee receives. Eligible students can investigate federal grants and loans, scholarships and veteran education benefits by completing the appropriate aid applications and reviewing SCC's financial-aid instructions. A personalized aid offer and current cost-of-attendance budget are more useful than adding historical averages to a current tuition quote.
SCC students can seek part-time work and career-planning support, but a campus job is not an automatic part of enrollment. Federal Work-Study, when included in a student's aid eligibility, is earned through approved employment rather than paid upfront like a grant.
Work-Study eligibility normally depends on a financial-aid application, demonstrated need and available funding; an eligible student still has to find and secure a position. Ordinary part-time jobs do not require a Work-Study award. Students comparing the two should check job hours, pay arrangements and how a position fits their class schedule.
SCC's career support includes individual and group career planning, résumé assistance, career-interest resources, job listings and job fairs. Employer recruitment can help students learn about openings, but these services should not be read as a job-placement guarantee. A student seeking an internship should also check whether their particular program offers academic credit for one; an internship is not a college-wide graduation requirement.
