Idaho State University provides campus security services that include around-the-clock patrols, emergency telephone or alarm devices, and a late-night escort or transportation option. Electronically controlled residence-hall entrances are also reported.

For an immediate emergency, students should call 911. For other concerns, they can use ISU's public safety reporting procedures; students should also enroll in or check the university's emergency-alert system and review campus emergency instructions. Sexual misconduct can be reported through the university's Title IX process, which is separate from choosing whether to contact law enforcement.
