Chamberlain University is institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Its nursing accreditation is a separate question: Chamberlain identifies the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) as the accreditor of its baccalaureate nursing degree program.
Institutional accreditation evaluates the university as a whole; programmatic accreditation evaluates a particular nursing program. Neither should be confused with state authorization or approval for prelicensure nursing education. A North Brunswick applicant should confirm the current status of the campus's BSN with Chamberlain, CCNE, and the New Jersey Board of Nursing before relying on it for a licensure plan.
Accreditation is relevant to federal aid eligibility and may matter when applying for further education, but it does not guarantee that another institution will accept particular credits. Nursing graduates must also satisfy applicable state licensure requirements, including the licensing examination.
Admission to Chamberlain University-New Jersey is not open admission. Degree-seeking applicants generally need an application, evidence of high school completion or an accepted equivalent, and academic records; the requirements may differ for first-time and transfer applicants.
In its 2024-25 admissions reporting, the institution required a secondary school record and GPA, while SAT and ACT scores were considered but not required. Class rank and recommendations were neither required nor recommended. It also reported requiring an admissions test other than the SAT or ACT. Because test rules can change and exemptions may depend on prior college work, applicants should obtain the current North Brunswick BSN testing instructions before scheduling or paying for an examination.
That reporting showed 18 first-time applicants admitted from 18 applicants. The resulting 100% admission rate describes a very small group; it does not mean that an applicant can skip academic, testing, or enrollment requirements. Nursing applicants should also distinguish admission from later eligibility to participate in clinical experiences, which can involve health documentation and other site-specific conditions.
The institution reported a $95 application fee for undergraduate applicants in its admissions data. This is an application charge, not tuition or an enrollment deposit.
Applicants should check the current fee for their intended program and application route before submitting payment. Anyone who may need a waiver should ask admissions whether one is available and secure its approval before submitting the application; a waiver should not be assumed to apply retroactively.
A campus-operated Army, Air Force, or Navy ROTC unit is not established for Chamberlain University-New Jersey. Applicants should not assume that attending Chamberlain makes them eligible to cross-enroll in a nearby college's ROTC program.
Cross-enrollment, where offered, requires an arrangement with a host institution and may have academic scheduling, citizenship, fitness, and service-obligation requirements. A student interested in that route needs confirmation from both the prospective ROTC host and Chamberlain before building it into an enrollment or financial plan.
Chamberlain University-New Jersey accepts transfer applicants and generally considers credits from other accredited institutions. Admission as a transfer student and acceptance of each course toward the BSN are separate decisions.
Transfer applicants should expect to provide official transcripts from prior colleges and to have their courses reviewed against Chamberlain's curriculum. The institution reports accepting certain Advanced Placement, CLEP, DSST/DANTES, and ACE-recommended credit, as well as credit for some prior learning. A qualifying exam score or previously earned credit does not automatically satisfy a nursing prerequisite or a clinical requirement.
The institution reports transfer entry in fall, spring, and summer. Before committing to a start date, applicants with prior coursework should request an official, program-specific transfer-credit evaluation showing which requirements are met, which remain, and how many Chamberlain credits must be completed. That evaluation is especially important for students transferring science courses or nursing coursework, where sequence and recency rules can affect the time needed to finish.
Students should not assume that a conventional semester-abroad exchange is part of the North Brunswick BSN. Chamberlain has described global health learning opportunities at the university level, but availability to an individual campus student can depend on the program, schedule, destination, and clinical requirements.
A student considering international learning should ask whether a particular experience carries degree credit, who operates it, what it costs beyond regular tuition, and whether any financial aid applies. An international healthcare experience is not automatically a substitute for a required New Jersey nursing clinical placement.
