American National University students should use the university's current emergency and misconduct-reporting instructions for the location or learning format in which they study. Campus safety arrangements at a physical site are not necessarily the same as support for students studying remotely.
Before attending in person, obtain the site's emergency contact information, building access procedures, and directions for reporting a threat or other incident. Students should also identify the university's current Title IX reporting channel for sex discrimination or sexual misconduct and review the procedures for requesting support.
An annual security report, where applicable, can help applicants examine reported incidents and institutional policies. Its crime statistics cover defined locations and reporting periods, however, and should not be treated as a complete measure of any individual's safety.
