Shoreline Community College's reported overall graduation rate was 29% in IPEDS 2024-25 data. That is a measure for a defined entering cohort, not the share of every student who eventually earns a credential.
Federal graduation-rate reporting generally follows first-time, full-time students and measures completion within 150% of a program's normal time - typically three years for a two-year credential. It can leave out students who entered part time or transferred in, and it does not treat transferring to another institution as graduating from Shoreline. Those limits are especially important at a college serving both career students and students whose immediate goal is university transfer.
The figure is worth discussing with an adviser alongside program-specific completion information, expected course availability and a realistic schedule. It cannot, on its own, explain why any individual student did or did not finish.
Future earnings are relevant when evaluating a Shoreline Community College program, but a college-wide salary figure would obscure major differences among fields, jobs and students' paths after leaving the college. A transfer student who later completes a bachelor's degree, for example, has a different trajectory from someone who enters work after a short certificate.
When comparing published earnings measures, students should check who is counted, whether the amount is a median or an average, and how long after enrollment or completion earnings were measured. Such figures may exclude people without earnings in the underlying records and do not capture job satisfaction, further education or regional living costs. Career counseling and employer contacts are useful services, but they are not evidence of a particular earnings outcome.
