RFU's published cost varies by degree, and a graduate tuition figure should not be mistaken for the price of its medical, pharmacy, or other professional programs. For 2024-25, federal institutional reporting listed average full-time graduate tuition of $35,744 and required graduate fees of $1,025, with the same reported amounts for Illinois and out-of-state students. The reported part-time graduate tuition charge was $700 per credit. These are reporting-category figures, not a quote for every RFU degree.
An individual cost of attendance also includes such expenses as housing, food, books, equipment, transportation, and personal spending. Clinical programs may add costs for immunizations, screenings, travel, or required supplies. Use the current program-specific tuition schedule and financial-aid budget for a realistic annual estimate, particularly if a program runs during the summer or charges by term. Published charges are not the same as a student's eventual out-of-pocket cost after scholarships and other aid.
Eligible students may finance study through federal loans, institutional scholarships, outside awards, or qualifying military education benefits. Federal grants often associated with undergraduate study generally do not apply to a student pursuing a graduate or professional degree. Aid eligibility and borrowing limits depend on the student and program; RFU's financial-aid office can explain the applicable FAFSA process and award terms.
Student employment may help with day-to-day expenses, but it should be budgeted separately from guaranteed financial aid. Federal Work-Study, when offered and awarded to an eligible student, generally requires the student to secure and perform an approved job; the award is not an upfront tuition discount.
RFU students can ask financial aid and their academic department about work-study eligibility, campus positions, and research or teaching work that fits their degree level. Ordinary part-time employment does not require a work-study award. A paid research position, internship, or clinical experience may have different hiring and academic rules, and demanding professional-program schedules can limit how many hours a student can reasonably work.
