Purdue Global's recurring community events center more on academic milestones and online engagement than on traditional campus festivals. Commencement is a notable opportunity for graduates to mark completion with classmates and supporters, subject to the format and participation rules announced for a given ceremony.
Virtual orientations, academic presentations and career-related sessions can also bring together students who otherwise study in different places. These events serve a different purpose from West Lafayette traditions such as Boilermaker homecoming: Purdue Global students should consult their own university's event calendar rather than assume that another Purdue campus's activities are part of their enrollment.
Purdue Global does not offer college-owned or operated undergraduate housing. Students should plan for their own accommodation, whether they study from home or relocate for personal reasons; there is no standard first-year residence-hall assignment.
Because the university is primarily online, it also does not operate a conventional residential meal-plan arrangement for its dispersed students. Any food or lodging needed during a clinical placement or other in-person requirement is a separate planning question. Before accepting a placement far from home, students should ask who is responsible for travel and temporary living costs.
