Penn State Abington has campus safety measures that include trained security patrols and 24-hour emergency telephone or alarm devices. Students also have access to Penn State emergency communications and reporting procedures.
For an immediate emergency, students should call 911. For nonemergency concerns, they should use the campus public-safety contact and follow posted instructions for alerts and incident reporting. Penn State publishes an annual security report with Clery Act information, including reported crimes for specified years and locations; those statistics require attention to their definitions and do not, by themselves, measure every aspect of personal safety. Penn State also maintains processes for reporting sexual misconduct and seeking supportive resources. New students should identify the relevant contacts and notification settings before classes begin.
