IPEDS 2024-25 reporting places NTU's overall graduation rate at 12%. Its reported six-year graduation rate is 18%, while the four-year measure is 0%. These are defined measures for particular student cohorts and time windows, not the percentage of all people who have ever enrolled and eventually completed a credential.
Graduation statistics commonly track first-time, full-time degree- or certificate-seeking students. They can therefore leave out the experiences of many transfer and part-time students, both of whom may be important at a university offering multiple credential lengths. NTU's reported retention rate is 38%; retention measures continued enrollment over a specified interval, not graduation.
A prospective student can use these figures to frame concrete questions about course availability, advising, program sequencing, and the time needed to finish. The rates alone do not identify why individual students left or whether they later completed a credential elsewhere.
A degree's potential financial return depends on the occupation, location, credential level, and a student's work history. A one-year-after-completion earnings measure, when available for a program, describes a defined group at an early career point; it is not a starting-salary offer to every graduate.
For NTU, prospective students should avoid attaching a single salary prediction to fields as different as engineering, education, business, and Diné language study. For a more useful comparison, identify the exact NTU credential, the jobs it is intended to prepare students for, any licensing steps, and wages in the region where they expect to work. Career support and a program's curriculum are relevant considerations, but neither is itself a verified employment outcome.
