For 2024-25, UAM's reported full-time undergraduate tuition was $5,685 for Arkansas residents and $11,250 for nonresidents. Required fees were another $3,607 in either category, bringing tuition plus required fees to $9,292 for residents and $13,988 for nonresidents. These amounts do not include living costs.
Reported room and board charges were about $8,600, and books and supplies were estimated at $1,500. Transportation, personal spending, and program-specific expenses can add to a student's budget. A commuter living at home and a student using campus housing should not assume the same total cost. Part-time tuition was reported at $190 per credit for residents and $375 per credit for nonresidents, before applicable fees.
Published charges also differ from net price, the cost remaining after grant and scholarship aid. In the reported figures, average net price was $12,896 for students from families with annual incomes up to $48,000 and $14,792 for those in the $48,001-$75,000 band. Averages are not individual aid offers. In the same aid reporting, 98% of students received financial aid, 39% received student loans, and the average undergraduate grant award across the reported grant sources was $9,566.
Eligible students may be able to use federal grants and loans, Arkansas aid such as the Academic Challenge Scholarship, institutional awards, or qualifying military education benefits. Filing the FAFSA is a practical first step for federal aid and for awards that use it to assess eligibility. An applicant should compare a current, individualized aid offer against a current cost-of-attendance budget rather than subtract an average grant from published tuition.
UAM students can consider part-time employment alongside their studies, but a campus job should not be assumed to come with admission or financial aid. Federal Work-Study, when offered to an eligible student, is a need-based aid program in which wages are earned through work; it is not a grant paid in full at the start of a term.
Students should check their aid offer for Work-Study eligibility and ask the financial-aid office how available positions are posted and filled. Ordinary campus or local part-time jobs may have different eligibility and funding rules. Hours, pay, and available positions can also vary by term.
UAM reports career support including résumé help, career-interest assessment, interview preparation, job fairs, counseling, and employer recruitment opportunities. Those services can help students explore a major or seek work, but participation does not establish that a student will obtain a job, internship, or particular salary.
