MHCC's reported overall graduation rate is 24% in IPEDS 2024-25 figures. This is a cohort-based completion measure, not the percentage of everyone who attends the college and eventually earns a credential.
Federal graduation-rate measures focus on a defined group of first-time, full-time students and a specified completion window. They can be informative, but community-college students also enroll part time, return after stopping out, change goals, or transfer before earning a credential at their starting institution. Those paths should not be mistaken for graduates in the reported rate.
For an individual applicant, the practical follow-up is program-specific: ask how often required courses are offered, whether prerequisites extend the timeline, and what academic support is available. The institution-wide figure alone cannot establish the likely outcome in a particular certificate or transfer pathway.
Career earnings are best evaluated by credential and occupation, not by assuming a single salary for all MHCC students. A transfer student, a student completing a short certificate, and a graduate entering a licensed health occupation face different labor markets.
When comparing published earnings figures, check who was counted, whether the amount is a median or mean, and how long after enrollment or completion it was measured. Earnings may exclude people who continue their education or cannot be matched to wage records. They also do not show job satisfaction, hours worked, regional living costs, or the cost of obtaining a required license.
MHCC's career support includes counseling, résumé assistance, job-search resources, employer contacts, and job fairs. Those services can help students explore opportunities; they are not evidence that any particular program leads to a specified wage or job offer.
