College of the Mainland students should use the college's current public-safety and emergency instructions for reporting an incident and receiving alerts. Emergency response procedures and the appropriate contact can differ between an immediate threat, a nonemergency report, and a concern at an instructional site away from the main campus.
The college's annual security report is the appropriate source for its reported campus crime statistics and formal safety policies. Such statistics cover defined locations and reporting years; they cannot, by themselves, establish that an individual campus visit will be safe or unsafe. Students can also review the college's procedures for reporting sexual misconduct and obtaining support, including how to seek help without relying on an informal report to a classmate or instructor.
