Standard four-year and six-year undergraduate graduation rates are not useful measures of Pacifica's graduate programs. Those federal measures follow specified cohorts of first-time undergraduate students; Pacifica reported no first-time degree-seeking undergraduate enrollment in the 2024-25 IPEDS data.
For a prospective master's or doctoral student, more relevant questions concern the program's expected time to degree, the share of students who finish coursework, dissertation or thesis completion, and - for practice-oriented programs - training placement and licensing outcomes. Ask for figures for the specific degree, with the cohort and measurement period identified. A doctoral completion figure, for instance, should not be presented as though it describes a master's program.
A single institution-wide earnings figure would not adequately describe Pacifica's graduates. The school offers degrees with different career paths, and an earnings measure would need to identify the degree, the graduates included, whether income is a median or mean, and how long after completion it was measured.
Students considering a practice-oriented degree should distinguish potential earnings from permission to practice: graduation alone does not confer a counseling or psychology license. Those considering a research or humanities degree should consider the range of occupations graduates enter. Salary figures, even when available for a particular program, cannot account for every graduate's prior experience, work hours, location, debt, or career goals.
