OSUIT's reported overall graduation rate is 42% in IPEDS 2024-25 figures. That statistic describes a defined group over a specified completion window; it does not mean that 42% of everyone who enrolls, including transfer and part-time students, eventually earns a credential.
The conventional federal graduation-rate measure follows first-time, full-time students and counts completion within 150% of the normal length of their program. For a two-year program, that window is generally three years. Students who transfer out or take longer can be absent from the completion count even if they subsequently finish elsewhere or later at OSUIT.
Because OSUIT offers credentials of different lengths, applicants will get a more useful picture by asking for completion, transfer, and licensing outcomes for their particular program and entry cohort. The institution-wide rate alone cannot explain why individual students did or did not complete.
College Scorecard field-of-study figures reported for October 2026 put one-year-after-completion earnings at $74,737 for electromechanical technologies/technicians and $54,394 for computer and information sciences, general. These are observations for reported program populations, not starting-salary offers or predictions for an individual graduate.
Timing matters: an earnings measure one year after completion cannot show long-term progression. The figures also do not capture every outcome that might matter to a student, such as job satisfaction, local cost of living, further education, or whether work is closely related to the program. Comparisons between fields should account for differences in the students and jobs represented rather than treating the figures as a controlled test of program quality.
