Harrisburg University's reported six-year graduation rate is 34% for the applicable first-time, full-time undergraduate cohort; its four-year rate is 23%. These measures follow a defined group of entering students, not every student who attends the university.
The reported first-year retention rate is 74%. Retention asks whether students returned for the next year, while graduation rates ask whether a cohort completed a credential within a specified period. Transfer students and students who begin part time may follow different paths and are not fully described by the standard first-time, full-time graduation measure.
For an applicant, the useful follow-up is program-specific: ask about course availability, advising, internship timing and the typical number of terms needed to complete the intended major. The institution-wide rates alone do not identify why an individual student did or did not graduate.
College Scorecard field-of-study figures report earnings measured one year after completion for qualifying former students; they are not starting-salary offers or predictions for future graduates. The reported figure for computer and information sciences is $38,866, while the figure for natural sciences is $21,419.
These figures should be read with the Scorecard's population and disclosure rules in mind: federal earnings measures cover identifiable, federally aided former students who meet the measure's employment and enrollment conditions. A program's figure may reflect a small group, and it does not account for every graduate or show the full range of salaries. Occupation, location, further study and years of experience can substantially change later earnings.
Career support is a different question from measured earnings. Harrisburg University reports an internship requirement and offers services including résumé help, interview preparation, employer recruiting, job fairs and alumni networking. Those services provide opportunities to prepare and apply; they are not evidence that a particular student will receive a job offer.
