AJU's recurring community activities are more closely associated with Jewish learning and cultural programming than with a conventional undergraduate homecoming calendar. Its Miller Introduction to Judaism is an established educational offering, and the Brandeis-Bardin Institute's camp and experiential programs are part of the institution's longer tradition.
AJU has also hosted public lectures and Jewish cultural events. An applicant should check the current events calendar for the dates, location, audience, and registration rules of any activity they hope to attend; a recurring type of programming is not a guarantee that a particular event runs every term.
Prospective students should not assume that AJU currently offers a residence hall and meal plan comparable to those at a traditional undergraduate campus. Its historic Bel Air setting and its Brandeis-Bardin facilities serve different purposes, and an overnight educational program is not the same thing as semester-long student housing.
Ask the admitting program whether housing is provided or arranged for its students, whether any meals are included during required sessions, and which expenses students must cover independently. Confirm those terms in writing before budgeting for a move to the Los Angeles area.
