The focus of our Immunology research
Research.com’s best universities ranking is a credible list of
leading scholars from the discipline of Immunology ,
based on a thorough study
of 166,880 scholars identified from
various bibliometric data sources. For the area of
Immunology, over 8616 researchers were
investigated.
What is D-index inclusion threshold for Immunology
The D-index threshold for approving a scientist to be
examined is established at 40 if
most of their publications are in the discipline of Immunology. The
acceptance requirements for scientists to be
considered into the ranking of top researchers are based on the D-index,
proportion of the contributions made within the selected
area as well as the awards and achievements of the
scholars. The D-index threshold for listing top
scholars is set as an increment of 10 depending on the total number of
scholars estimated for each
scientific field whilst guaranteeing that the top 1% of
best scientists are incorporated into the ranking.
There should be a proximity of 30% or less between a
scholar’s general H-index and their D-index.
Other verification methods
As our leading mission is to make sure that only
credible scholars are listed in
our ranking we are aware that raw data are never
meant to be a complete means to evaluate the
work of scientists. For that reason
we manually check each profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a
wide range of reliable sources. Even though it’s not a
metric contributing to a scientist’s position in
the ranking, the quantity of documents published in
major journals and conference proceedings should constitute a
credible secondary indication of their contribution to research in a
given field of study. Position in the ranking is
determined by every scientist’s D-index
according to metrics gathered from OpenAlex and
CrossRef, which are the most prominent and well-known bibliometric
databases of this kind available to the research community. A
detailed overview of our research policy
can be found on our
methodology page.
Our mission
Our mission is to motivate scholars,
businessmen and politicians
around the world to investigate where leading experts are heading
and to provide an opportunity for the entire scientific community to
discover who the leading experts in specific
fields of research, in various countries, or even within research
institutions are.
