Modern large-scale computer facilities like data centers and High-Performance Computing clusters are sternly inhibited by cooling and energy cost for solving extreme-scale challenges in sustainable energy management. This increasing energy use is progressively at risk due to different factors, such as price, sustainability, scalability, and environmental impacts. The rising energy demand in the data centre and high-performance computing are of extreme concern, and there is a necessity to shape an efficient and sustainable environment that reduces the undesirable environmental impact. In a high-performance computational system, Green computing solves a multi-level issue of simultaneous energy demand and control of energy supply from the servers to the entire data centre. Green computing represents an environmentally responsible way to reduce energy for a sustainable platform. It uses computing resources efficiently to maximize energy efficiency by reducing the demand during the product’s lifetime for sustainable energy management.

Further, it adapts work assignments to servers, which can satisfy the various energy constraints. Green computing is an important field of study which has been considered for sustainable energy management. The relocation of green live virtual machines and application restructuring and the distribution of energy resources for customer activities is especially helpful in the reduction of energy in computing data centers’. Heuristic Green computing algorithms focused on live VM migration strategies for minimization of energy resources on dynamic server scheduling of server based on a sequential search, random search, and maximal fairness of resource allocation.

Green computing consists of interconnected computer resources with the use of standard protocols for communication to address energy demands for a sustainable environment. The state of sustainable art technologies is working to combine Knowledge Engineering with the mathematical theory that can operate sustainably, manage, integrate, and reason with Green Computing for a sustainable energy environment. Therefore, futuristic research work needs appropriate approaches and strategies to minimize the demand for energy efficiency structurally for a renewable technology system in green computing infrastructure architecture.

Revised paper submission:  15th January 2022
Final acceptance:                 30th May 2022

Submission Guidelines:

Any other high quality submission that fits the topics of this special issue is welcome. All invited papers will be subjected to the same rigorous review process as the regular submissions to this special issue. Submitted articles must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. For work that has been published previously in a workshop or conference, it is required that submissions to the special issue have at least 30% new content.

All submitted manuscripts must be formatted according to the Computing's instructions for authors which are available at https://www.springer.com/607. We will accept both LaTeX manuscripts (which must use Springer templates at https://www/springer.com/607) and word manuscripts (for which no templates are available).

Manuscript length
Please note that the page limit for Special Issue submissions differs from that of regular Computing submissions. Manuscripts submitted to the Special Issue should not exceed 20 pages. Submission that do not comply with this requirement are likely to be desk rejected without being reviewed.
