The range of our Business and Management research
Our best scholars ranking is a trustworthy
list of leading researchers from the area of
Business and Management, created using a detailed
analysis of 166,880 scientists identified
from various bibliometric data sources. For the area of
Business and Management, over 7819 scientists were
analysed.
What is D-index inclusion threshold for Business and Management
The D-index threshold for approving a researcher to be
considered is placed at 30 if
the majority of of their publications are in the field of Business and Management. The
acceptance requirements for scientists to be
considered into the ranking of top scientists are based on the D-index, ratio
of the contributions made within the selected area
plus the awards and achievements of the scholars. The
D-index threshold for considering top researchers is
set as an increment of 10 depending on the overall number of scientists
assessed for each discipline whilst
ensuring that the top 1% of leading scientists are
considered into the list. There should be a proximity of
30% or less between a scientist’s general H-index and their D-index.
Additional verification practices
Since our main mission is to make sure that only
genuine scholars are included in
Research.com ranking we realize that metrics are never
supposed to be a complete means to quantify the
work of scientists. Because of that
we manually verify each profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a
broad range of credible sources. While it’s not a
metric contributing to a scholar’s position in
our ranking, the quantity of papers published in
prominent journals and conference proceedings should be a
reliable secondary implication of their contribution to research in a
selected field of study. Position in the ranking is
established using every scientist’s D-index
using information collected from OpenAlex and
CrossRef, which are the most credible and well-established bibliometric
databases of this kind accessible to the research community. A
comprehensive explanation of our research procedures
can be found on our
methodology page.
Our mission
Our mission is to motivate researchers,
businessmen and decision-makers
worldwide to investigate where top experts are heading
and to offer an opportunity for the whole research community to
find out who the leading experts in specific
fields of research, in various countries, or even within research
institutions are.
